We just hit critical mass

I can’t put it into words, but something happened today, stepped over some kind of threshold, hit critical mass. Now it goes boom, this thing we’ve been building - a perspective, a view on life, a housing technology, a science of infrastructure… a plan to fix the world, which is not broken. If you never read it, [...]

An anti-patent-abuse appropriate technology political bloc?

As I look at all these rocket scientists struggling to navigate the horrific waters of patent law and worst practices, I’m wondering… why has the Sacred Oath gone out of fashion? Like, really, what this comes down to is three principles which really ought to be sworn in blood by anybody doing this kind of work. 1> [...]

On facing Dr. Horrible.

Dr. Horrible is a really, really perfectly nerdy web TV show by the brains behind Buffy and Firefly/Serenity. For reasons that I’m foolishly going to try to explain, it hit me like a bag of hammers. Here’s Dr. Horrible’s problem. He wants the world to be a better place, and he’s willing to kill people to [...]

I see cities of hand-made cardboard-and-steel houses in which the old never have to bury the young, nobody has accidents, and the harvest hasn't failed in over a hundred years.

Hi. Finally signed up. Need to fill my profile in with exciting things but as my last day with Science for Humanity is tomorrow I guess I will have plenty of time to do that soon.

Vinay,
I'm working on this same thing over at http://P2PFoundation.Ning.com/group/hostingp2pinitiatives/forum/topic/show?id=2003008%3ATopic%3A3043

I'll try starting a new discussion thread or replying to one that seems relevant instead of cluttering up your profile page.

Hello Vinay.

I have written about this in many places, but am rarely understood. That is why I am working on a new way to communicate it.

Here are some links that might help until then:

An ongoing discussion with John and Sepp at http://P2PFoundation.Ning.com/profiles/blog/show?id=2003008%3ABlogPost%3A4357

Both "Capital Club" and "Paying Investors With Product Solves the Paradox of Profit in Perfect Competition" threads at http://www.listcultures.org/pipermail/p2presearch_listcultures.org/2008-March/thread.html

http://P2PFoundation.net/User_Owned

http://P2PFoundation.net/Property_Left

http://EcoComics.org/thesis.html and
http://EcoComics.org/faq.html

I wish I could give a quick summary, but just don't know how.

If you read these things and understand what I am suggesting, I would like to hear your attempt at a summary.

Thanks,
Patrick

I'm back in Boston until June 17, then in Chicago 'till September. Possibly visiting California (maybe maybe Seattle) at some point in time, so if we coexist within some reasonable radius of each other, I'd love to meet you face-to-face. Easiest way to keep track of movements is probably to follow mchua on Dopplr.

Have fun in El Salvador!
