Having a machine shop sounds great. Have you had a chance to look at Marcin's blog? http://openfarmtech.org/weblog/ Take the "weblog" part for a full wiki of stuff. It's kind of mindblowing, one piece of hardware at a time. There may be a meeting in mid-August, too. Just saying!
